Community of Interbeing at the International Festival of Middle Eastern Spirituality and Peace

A Mindful Peace Walk
Sunday 5 March 2006, 9.30am-10.30am, Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh

We are pleased that Sister Tu Nghiem will be with us from Plum Village. This silent walking meditation is an open event. Before the walk begins there will be a brief introduction to mindful walking as a meditation practice. Admission Free. Just come along on the day. We meet at the West Gate at 9am.

My Life is My Message - A DVD of Thich Nhat Hanh
Tuesday 7 March 2006, 7pm. St. Mark’s Unitarian Church, Castle Terrace, Edinburgh

A world renowned Zen Master, Poet and Peacemaker, Thich Nhat Hanh devotes his life to teaching peace and travels world-wide, leading retreats on mindful living. The DVD shows the yearly gathering of Palestinians and Israelis at Plum Village, sharing the practice of deep listening and understanding. Sister Tu Nghiem will be in attendance to introduce the DVD and to answer questions.By donation at the door - £2.50 to £5.00 per person.

A Retreat - Watering the Seeds of True Peace
Thursday 9 March 2006, 6pm until Sunday 12 March, 2pm. Wiston Lodge, Wiston by Biggar, South Lanarkshire, ML12 6HT

Senior Dharmacharya Sister Tu Nghiem (Sister Eleni), from Plum Village, will guide us on this retreat. Her knowldge and practice of Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings have earned great respect. The retreat offers a breathing space to bring together people of different faiths or none, in the spirit of mindfulness. We will practice: sitting, walking and eating together in mindfulness. Through silence and deep listening we hope to water the seeds of true peace and joy within ourselves and each other. Cost: Including accommodation and vegetarian meals. 3 rates according to your ability to pay: 1} £140.00 (recommended rate) 2} £120.00 (concessionary/cost rate) 3} £100.00 (special bursary rate) For those able to pay more, donations would be gratefully received and will go to support the Plum Village Community. Deposit of £20.00 per person non-refundable.
